Call for 2026 TRCR Call for Reclamation Award Nominations

The BC Technical and Research Committee on Reclamation (TRCR) is seeking nominations of worthy recipients at the 49th Annual BC Mine Reclamation Awards. Awards will be presented at a ceremony during the TRCR Symposium in Fort St. John, BC on September 23, 2026.

Nominations are being sought in the following categories:

  • Metal Mines                     •     Placer Mines
  • Coal Mines                       •      Mineral Exploration
  • Sand and Gravel              •     Coal Exploration
  • Quarries

If you are involved in, or know of, a mine related reclamation project in BC that you feel should be considered for an award,  the committee encourage you to take the time to highlight those efforts by submitting a nomination.

Companies or individuals who deserve special recognition for their mine reclamation efforts may be nominated or can nominate themselves.

The deadline for nominations is: Friday, July 17th, 2026

New General Poster Category

This year, the new General Poster Category at TRCR provides an opportunity for practitioners, consultants, researchers, government representatives, industry professionals, NGOs, and community groups to share applied work in mine reclamation, restoration, remediation, environmental planning, monitoring, and ecosystem recovery. Posters should contribute meaningfully to knowledge-sharing through case studies, research findings, monitoring data, methods or innovations, and lessons learned. Submissions must be educational, factual, and professionally presented; marketing-style or promotional posters are not permitted, though modest logos are acceptable.

Poster Abstract deadline: June 5, 2026. Abstracts must include a title, topic, relevance, objectives, and a brief content summary. Final posters (PDF) are due September 15 for committee vetting prior to the conference. All submissions will be reviewed by the TRCR Poster Review Committee to ensure alignment with session criteria.
